Buckminster Shoot is set within 6,000 acres of stunningly tranquil and picturesque countryside, offering over 47 established drives suitable for all levels. The rolling countryside, historic parkland and dramatic lakes make for breath-taking surroundings and varied drives.
Offering flexibility to meet all guns’ expectations and shooting conditions, our shoot guests are ensured a fantastic shooting experience. The drives are presented from a variety of cover crops, plantations, and mature woodland. The lighter flat land offers some much sought after typical Lincolnshire partridge shooting, and the wooded undulating ground is ideally suited for pheasants.
Guests are able to choose a schedule to suit their individual requirements, making for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Begin the day at Buckminster Barn with a warming welcoming breakfast beside a roaring fire, enjoy a mid-morning snack by the pegs, break for lunch or afternoon tea, or shoot through and finish your day with a hearty supper. With plenty of space on the gun bus, non-shooting guests are of course most welcome and often enjoy the day as much as the guns!
The shoot day is led by Head Keeper Nigel and wife Sue who have been at Buckminster for over 30 years, and also rear all the pheasants presented at the shoot. The shoot also benefits from many keen beaters and pickers up whom all work hard to deliver a world class shoot. Loaders are available on request.
Set on the Lincolnshire/Leicestershire border just three miles off the A1, Buckminster is within easy reach of the market towns of Stamford, Melton Mowbray and Grantham. Nottingham, Leicester and Loughborough are conveniently situated within a 20-mile radius of the village, and London is only a 2 hour car or 65 minute train journey away.
Regardless of how our guests chose to sculpt their day, they are assured of diverse shooting, an abundance of delicious food and drink, and a relaxed welcoming environment.
