Deepdale:
Deepdale is a new shoot that we took on in December 2015. Deepdale is situated on the Lartington estate just west of Barnard Castle. Deepdale is a traditional sporting Estate with Woodland and Game Crops laid out specifically for shooting. It has fantastic potential to be developed as a small and friendly shoot with an emphasis on the social scene. At the moment we are running Deepdale as a Stand One/Walk One.
Deepdale has numerous woods which vary from small conifer woods which provide very nice drives over a valley, mature woodland around the Low Lake, old silver bird and laurels around the High Lake and the deep valleyed Mature Woodlands down Deepdale and Raygill. In addition to the woodland we have a two good Game Crops, two lakes and many areas of rough cover along valley sides. Deepdale itself is….well deep…and capable of showing astonishingly high birds. The shoot extends to 600 acres.
The two lakes provide very good duck shooting. Duck shooting is available to those who help with the feeding rota.
Fishing is available to our members on the Low Lake. The lake is in a secluded Mature Woodland location with a Fishing Hut. The Low Lake extends to about 4 acres.
We are releasing 1500 Pheasants at Deepdale in 2015 and the shoot has good stocks of Grey Partridge and a good fall of Woodcock. We shoot every second Saturday commencing the 15th October.
Shooting at Deepdale revolves around a wonderful lunch hut which has a dining area, kitchen/lounge, toilet block and large secure car park. The lunch hut has mains water and generator electric. Bacon Sandwiches are served for breakfast and we have a cooked lunch on site which costs the guns £10 a day and this includes payment towards any beaters lunches. Deepdale is very much a social, relaxing shoot – it’s not about numbers…it’s about an enjoyable day’s shooting in good company and a nice pace.
Deepdale will have 18 members this season.
There is no closed season shooting at Deepdale however we do allow members to access our sister shoot at Stobgreen from the 1st Feb until the 11th August for Pigeon, Rabbit and vermin shooting
Access for fishing is unrestricted but must be booked via our forum. Members can bring one guest fishing who must be supervised at all times.

Shoots swaps – we allow syndicate members to swap two days per season with the members at our sister shoot at Stobgreen. Deepdale lads can take 2 days at Stobgreen and vice versa.
Guest places – in the event syndicate members cannot attend a day then we make that space available to all the other members. This means that frequently a Stobgreen member (our sister shoot) will get a free place at Deepdale and vice versa. This season we had places offered like this on most days and consequently we have had some members get an extra 4 or 5 days shooting and on many days we have still had unfilled places.
